Saturday was such a beautiful day. Greer loved riding in her wagon outside and going for a stroll with Cookie.I would have never known Greer was sick had I not felt her head on Saturday night. Besides fever, Greer showed no other symptoms. Sunday morning she woke up with 102.2. I gave her Motrin (The Wonder Med). She perked right up and her fever dropped to 99. You could tell when the Motrin stopped working because her temperature would go right back up. By that afternoon you could totally tell she was sick, but still no other symptoms. I got her a doctor's appointment Monday morning. She had Strep Throat. Greer had always been a super patient. She would smile and show the doctor and nurses all her tricks. Well, what came next ended those days. They had to give her a big shot of antibiotics. It was so sad. Greer was heart broken. I don't think she had ever cried so hard. Dr. O'Neill told us to come back on Wednesday if she was not better, but he really thought the shot would take care of it. I waited until she was completely calm before I left the room. On the way out Greer spotted her nurse. You know what happened then...TEARS! I am sure that happens everyday, but you don't want it to be your child. Greer stopped the minute we left the office. I hope that nurse didn't have any self-confidence issues.
I have been waiting for it to snow all winter and it finally does it when Greer is sick. I could not even get a picture of her in her first snow. Greer enjoyed looking out the window. She was alittle upset when she looked out and it was gone. Greer was not getting any better. She was pitiful. I don't ever want Greer to be sick, but at this age it is alittle Bitter Sweet for a mom. All she wanted was her Mommy and she wanted to be held at all times. Babies grow up so fast and you are so glad when they start doing things on their own, but it is a great feeling when they just want to lie there and be cuddled. Even those feeling have there limits and Greer took them to the extreme. I could not do anything. She would break down and tears with her arms out when I would put her down. She was sick and I could not see her like that, so I held her all day and all night. Tuesday night Greer's temperature was 103.4 so I figured we would probably be making another trip to the doctor's office.
Greer woke up with fever and cabin fever. She is not used to staying in the house for that long. She went to the front door and said "Go Out". Poor thing. I knew I had to keep her busy because we were not going to the doctor until later that afternoon. We decided to clean out her drawers to get ready for spring. I had kept some of her swimsuits from last year out and she found them. She wanted to wear it along with bunny ears. She would have worn it to the doctor's office if I would have let her. Once again Motrin saved the morning. When we got to the doctor's office Greer was tired and her fever was back. The moment she heard her name being called she started to get upset and when she saw the nurse it was over. Dr. O'Neill was surprised to see us. He really thought Greer would be better. We could not believe it when he said Greer had a bad ear infection. Her ears were perfect when we went in on Monday. They gave Greer some stickers when we left which made her very happy. I hope she will remember those the next time we are in there.Wishful thinking...I'm sure. Wednesday night we got Greer out and went to G-Pa and Cookie's for Birthday cake. Happy Birthday, Cookie and Char Char! Greer was so glad to be there but you could clearly see she did not feel well. When we got back home Greer started shaking her head and when we went in the bedroom she started crying. She was truly sick of the house and to be honest so was I.
Greer's antibiotics are starting to work already. She did not have fever today and by this evening she was wanting to eat. I hope this is the end of being sick for a long time. It has started to snow and they are predicting accumulation. Greer wont be able to play in it, but I may be able to get one picture of her touching it for the first time. Thanks to everyone for your phone calls and prayers. Greer's good friend Addyson was also very sick. We are so glad she is well.

Oh, I am sorry you are sick!
Sickness is so not fun! Why don't you bring the snow inside for her, just scoope some up and put it in a bowl...thats what I do for Caroline when I don't want to get Carlee out.... she loves it and you can stay cozy and warm inside!
Hope to see you soon!
It is so horrible when they are sick. Both of my girls are sick as well. Ear infections, colds, etc... Hopefully spring will come soon and bring warmer weather and all the sickness will end.
Oh, POOR BABY!!! I am so sorry, and we have been in the same boat this week! Sydney had fever Monday and Tuesday, but we are finally back to our ole' silly self again. Please Miss Priss- feel better soon!
Poor Greer! We understand - Jackson had ear infections in both ears (2 weekends ago) and then last weekend came down with the stomach bug that lasted this entire week! Yikes - it is not fun when they are sick. Feel better soon, Greer!
Poor Greer :( It is no fun to watch your baby so pitiful!! Hope she feels better soon!
I am so sorry to hear that Greer has been sick. I hope she is feeling better now and that we see you guys at Gymboree soon. We missed you last time. Take care, Lili
