The Summer Olympics Or Should We Say O'Phics

I think this is the first year that I was sad when the Olympics were over. We really got into the games at our house. Greer LOVED the Gymnastics. Every night, after her bath, Greer and I would watch the event and then Greer would try to perform her version of the routine. She would perform her Uneven Bar Routine, which she named Monkey, on the bed post followed by her Floor Routine on the bed. I can't tell you how many times the child attempted to do a back flip. I finally had to start spotting her doing Back-Hand Springs. We are still watching the Gymnastics and Swimming events... Thank goodness for DVRs.
When we first started watching the Olympics Greer called it "Lympics", but something happened along the way and it is now the O'phics. I wonder if she heard Phelps so much that she is combining the two (like Beniffer or Bradglina)? How ever she came up with it...she says it all the time.
Last Tuesday, Greer started gymnastics at Mega with Juliana, Ava, Ella, Addyson (who was not there this week) and Lauren( who will start after the baby comes). She was very excited when she put on her "O'phics outfit". She was so proud and before we could go to gymnastics we had to first show Helmsley (if it excites Greer our Dalmation is the first to hear about it) and then she had to model it for G-pa.
It usually takes Greer a few minutes to warm up to new things, but as soon as we walked into Mega it was like Greer was at home. She was so comfortable and excited. When we walked into the gym area Greer looked at me, with a big smile, and said "O'PHICS". Their coach Ms. Kelly could not believe how well they did with staying together and following directions. The girls were a hoot and I think Ms. Kelly had alot of fun teaching kids so young. After they did their stretches they worked on the Tampoline, Balance Beam, they did Floor exercises, and played with the foam cubes in the Pit. When we got in the car Greer said "O'phics so fun...so proud". I can honestly say she loved it and had the best time.
